Client stories and experiences

Taking the step to reach out for support can feel daunting, especially when we are nervous and unsure of what lies ahead. Often, people come to my counselling room  without knowing the exact trigger for how they feel, carrying a heavy weight of emotion, anxiety, or grief.

While self-care is often the most difficult thing to prioritise, each of us deserves compassion, space, and dedicated care. No one can predict exactly what happens in counselling, but my aim is always to listen deeply, hear your story, and keep you safe throughout your journey.

"Just like to say thank you to Oonagh for the grief counselling I received after losing my husband 12 months ago. Oonagh made me completely at ease and listened when I cried, and I shared with her my grief and life stories. Meeting up for a chat and knowing everything I shared was confidential and would stay in the room meant everything. I would thoroughly recommend Oonagh to anyone struggling with grief or any emotional issues to get in touch."

Client reflection, bereavement support

"When I first reached out, I did not even know why I felt so overwhelmed or what the trigger was. Oonagh created a calm and confidential space where I felt truly listened to and accepted. Taking time out for myself was so difficult, but these sessions helped me begin to understand my emotions and find steady ground again."

Client reflection, one-to-one counselling

"I was incredibly nervous before my first appointment, not knowing what to expect. From the very first moment, Oonagh made me feel completely safe and supported. Having a dedicated space to talk through life changes without fear of judgement has made an invaluable difference to my emotional wellbeing."
