One-to-one counselling support
Welcome to Oonagh Counselling. Based in Sutton Coldfield, I offer compassionate, person-centred therapy tailored to your individual journey, whether you prefer in-person sessions, online video, or telephone support.
Areas of focus
Life can present overwhelming challenges that are difficult to navigate alone. I provide a calm, non-judgemental space to explore your feelings and experiences at your own pace, specialising in several key areas of support.
Bereavement
Grief can feel isolating and complex. I offer dedicated space to process profound loss, helping you navigate your emotions with gentle, ongoing support.
Terminal illness
Facing a terminal diagnosis, whether your own or that of a loved one, brings deep distress. Together we can talk through fears, sadness, and life adjustments.
Childhood trauma
Unresolved early trauma can impact adult relationships and well-being. We work gently to unpack past painful events and foster long-term emotional healing.
A person-centred approach
Although I have studied diverse therapeutic modalities, the heart of my practice is firmly rooted in person-centred therapy. You are the expert in your own life; I am here to walk alongside you, offering empathy, acceptance, and a safe environment without judgement.
How we work together
I hire a peaceful, private space on Duke Street in Sutton Coldfield for in-person appointments. If you prefer flexibility or cannot travel, I also provide one-to-one therapy via secure online video calls or telephone sessions across the UK. Every counselling hour consists of 50 minutes dedicated entirely to you, followed by 10 minutes of practitioner reflection to support your therapeutic journey.
Taking the first step
Reaching out for help can feel daunting, especially if it is your first time seeking counselling. To make things as easy as possible, our very first step is a short, informal telephone conversation. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your needs and discover whether I am the right fit for you before committing to regular sessions.
